Upon being admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland Tom Klug was sworn in as an assistant public defender for the State of Maryland. His 9-year career as a public defender in Baltimore City began with his assignment to traffic court where he handled, on a daily basis,

Being recognized as a competent and tenacious defense attorney Tom Klug was promoted to become one of 13 public defenders handling felony jury trials before the Supreme Bench in Baltimore City, which is now known as the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. 

During the remainder of his public defender career Tom Klug successfully participated in numerous jury trials and judge trials in which his clients were charged with

    • serious drug offenses
    • child abuse
    • burglaries
    • rape 
    • other sexual offenses

Tom Klug continues to represent clients in the District Court, including traffic court citations and felony matters brought before the Circuit Courts.
